HIKING IN THE
SALZKAMMERGUT region
Take a deep breath. Savour the fresh mountain air: On a hiking holiday in the Salzkammergut region words become superfluous, as nature speaks for itself. The picturesque view from the „Seehotel“ makes you long to go out and climb the surrounding peaks.
The variety of possibilities to fulfil this wish is as diverse as the region itself. They range from a challenging mountain tour up the Traunstein or Feuerkogel mountains to a relaxing walk through the town of Traunkirchen. For those who would like to admire the town from above, a hike to the Baalstein and the Geiswand is ideal. The two panorama platforms offer a unique bird's eye view of Traunkirchen. The highest mountain in the region is the "Traunstein". While Baalstein and Geiswand are quite easy, you have to be an experienced mountaineer to explore the Traunstein. The nearby "Feuerkogel" is an easier alternative for those, who seek a longer and safer hike. In addition Feuerkogel offers the possibility to take the mountain cable car to reach the top.
For more detailed information regarding hiking routes in the region feel free to ask our hotel reception staff.
